Arnold Schlaet (1859 – 1946) was a U.S. oil industrialist and business man who, with Joseph S. Cullinan, co-founded Texaco Incorporated in 1902. Schlaet was an investor from New York who worked for H.P. Lapham and Co. , managing that company's petroleum interests. Naturally conservative, he was nevertheless impressed with Cullinan's plans, and helped him to gain capital to start the new venture.
